~Hockey player learned CPR is priceless after unexpected cardiac arrest

Posted on October 11, 2012 at 11:47 Winnipeg Jets player Brett MacLean, formerly with the Phoenix Coyotes, suffered what can only be described as a tragic physical condition which has forever changed his life. In July of 2012, Brett was 40 minutes into a pickup game of hockey and all of a sudden collapsed on the ice. Luckily 2 friends and a volunteer fire-fighter in the stands performed CPR and used a defibrillator (AED) on him which saved his life. Lucky to have his life, MacLean is no longer able to play contact sports after a cardiac defibrillator was implanted in his chest that will shock his heart if it beats abnormally.
