Hockey teammates receive award for saving fellow player's life

Hockey teammates receive award for saving fellow player's life !!

"Two Winnipeg men who saved a teammate's life during a hockey game in December are being recognized by the city's fire department for their quick actions.

The Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service awarded its first Citizen Recognition Award on Tuesday to Ron Klippenstein and Dan Szun, who came to the aid of Jim Kirby when he suffered a heart attack at the Glenwood Community Centre during a regular pickup game on Dec. 14.

Officials noted that the AED at the Glenwood Community Centre, which was donated by Crosstown Credit Union, had been used for one other medical emergency prior to Kirby's heart attack."

Thank you to the Heart and Stroke Foundation in Manitoba, Crosstown Civic Credit Union, Boston Pizza Foundation, etc.
